Well lets think about it. After the last baseball strike and people were not going to the games and people were fed up, what gets credit for saving the game? Big Mac and Sammy Sosa.It filled the seats. It filled the airwaves. No wonder the owners turned on to this so fast and turned a blind eye to it. Now on this board we have a pretty good group of real baseball fans that believe in the integrity of the game and agree with you as I do. Some of these owners were desperate to fill the seats though. Some of the same owners that always claim poverty to begin with and cry to the press when Yankees, Mets or Boston have to much money to spend.. Do I agree with them. No, I don't. But thats how it went.
