You are correct in that a situation such as you described could lead to a lawsuit. However, that is a topic quite different from the one Bob and I were discussing. You are addressing the issue of moderated vs. unmoderated boards. This issue has been bandied about here at IH almost from it's inception. the pro's and con's evaluated from every perspective. As a result the current system seems to be functioning as intended and the necessary checks and balances to prevent the situation you describe are in place. TMK, IH is currently free of such an occurrence.
Additionally, It would equally as distressing to discover a short manipulator was distributing illegally obtained inside information via a 'protected' thread while promoting a website and newsletter where subscribers could also take part and benefit from the illegal activities.

That is more than merely possible and some aggressive federal prosecutors are exploring those possibilities as we speak.
