Then why not implement User Specific Block? Or for that matter Ignore?
If the effect on traffic is so miniscule, and with no ranking system to be manipulated by Ignores or Marking, what good reason is there not to have it?
It can make some users *feel* better about the site. It may even make some people behave better!
So it's a bear to program, but once it's setup is the maintenance for it anything significant? your previous mentions of this problem haven't indicated so. How much of a demand on the servers is it anyway? To read your posts it sounds like one of the top 25,000 sites on the net (traffic rating) is only using 1-2% of its capacity. Would ignore raise that by 50%? double? triple? or only 10%? even at tripling we are talking 3-6% of capacity.
What we have is a feature that your competitors have, you have an opportunity to improve on it, equal it or cast it aside. You appear to be ready to cast it aside. The only reason I'm picking up for this is that it's not worth the effort to program it in (In your opinion).
I deliberately did not carry the lawsuit example to the extreme, but it is possible that cyberstalking could turn into real stalking with disastrous results. Imagine the publicity exposure from that kind of news item.

We know it's not "just because I'm asking" and we know it's not because of the an impact on traffic. It shouldn't be because it's too difficult to program. What other reason(s) can there be to refuse to implement Ignore or USer Specific block? At least on PM's!
