Oh, what to do.

I have an idea, and maybe we can open the minds of a couple of site owners at the same time.

IF you look closely you'll see that JM gets to rambling when antagonized by NW. Once the ball is rolling anything can and usually does get said.
I am not going to suggest that you put in the ignore feature here. Everybody knows you and Bob are just dead set against it.
As an alternative though I suggest IH take the old SI "you don't post to each other" agreement a step further.
Call it "User Specific Block". You (the Admin) have control. When engaged, USB will prevent two users from posting to or replying to posts made by each other. All other posting is as normal. They can still post "about" each other, just not directly to each other.
Benefits:
1. Admin can "separate" two combatants, thus terminating a flame war.
2. Admin can end the ability of a stalker to stalk
3. Admin can determine easily if either or both parties need to be punished further by their continuation in posting "about" the other party instead of Stocks.
4. Can serve as an early warning punishment that doesn't involve the embarrassment of a suspension or the finality of termination.
5. Admin would have a record of an individuals involvement in "conflicts", thus would be able to view "at a glance" if a user is a problem child or if it is a rare event.
Drawbacks:
1. It may be a bear to program. then again maybe not. If you can "restrict" a user from certain boards why not "restrict" a user from certain users?
2. Admin may get requests for "blocking" in greater numbers than he is prepared to cope with.

The primary purpose of the USB is to put an end to stalking. JM is complaining about a stalker. And this isn't the first time NW has been accused of stalking.
I'm not saying JM is perfect or the best user at IH, but he may have a point here.

Please consider this, and do be so kind as to offer the courtesy of a timely reply.
