The cool part of your question was explained to me by a lawyer friend like this...The 500 Million in damages is what the defendants cost us over the last so many years...That doesn't include the value of the trust..so they could conceptualy write a check for 500 million and we would still have our assets...Its unlikely they would do that..he further explained it might be a ball park figure to start negotations..He also thought that the defense will probably wait to hear our arguements before they get to the table to talk seriously...This is an opinion from a friend who doesn't know much about this case...so Please take it FWIW..
