Effective Control Transport, Inc. Proposes a Standard for Evaluating the Performance of Sleepiness Detection Technologies

ST-HUBERT, QC -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 04/09/09 -- Effective Control Transport, Inc. (PINKSHEETS: EFFC) (www.econtroltransport.com), has recently introduced to the scientific community at the International Conference on Fatigue Management in Transportation Operations (March 24-26, 2009, Boston, MA, USA) the preliminary results of its recent studies that confirm the performance of the CRAM System (Cognitive Ressources Availability Manager).
The positive results obtained at preliminary testing indicate the great potential of the new approach used by our R&D Department, comments Raphael Huppe, President and CEO of ECT. The company believes that its approach consists of one of the most objective procedures to evaluate how useful a given solution really is, in regards to the PERTINENCE of the information given to the driver. Up to date, there has been little research focused on the PERTINENCE of the alert fed back to the operator, that is: "Does the driver receive an alert signal with enough time for her/him to plan for a corrective action?" The preliminary results indicate the information supplied by the CRAM to the operator reaches a PERTINENCE level close to 100%.
