The system is thr problem. MM's have operated with little or no cks and balances. The SEC has done little at the company level unless there is a public outcry that brings light to a specific individual or group. Yhe dude Goldenburg that JJ write about was outted by an article titled "The Mob on Wall Street" by Gary Weiss. I believe the article ran in 1997 or so. Google it. It's a fun read. The FBI started monitorin this dude because of the article. They finally caught him as part of a huge sting. He met in Vegas with undercover agents posin as MM's that he tried to bribe. Dozens of perps were prosocuted in that sing. Guess where the whole bunch was located besides NY. Right down there with JJ in S. Florida. Boca Raton.
