Dimon recently purchased Stock in JP Morgan when it was in a tail spin. JP Morgan buying back stock in JP Morgan reduces the float and increases the value of each share thereby making Dimon's shares worth a hell of a lot more while inceasing shareholder value/equity.

SPECULATION (Just throwing it out there):

Another aspect is JP Morgan wants to "inflate" the share price of JP Morgan because there is going to be a share swap of JP Morgan shares for Wamu shares. Since JP Morgan's share price is higher, wach JPM share can swap for MORE Wumu shares thereby reducing the cost and dilution to JPM shareholders.

So take out shares from the float and increase the JPM PPS and throw the shrares back into the float with a stock swap w/ Wamu.
