Zeev,

It's our educations systems responsibility to teach our children to think. To pose differing beliefs and philosophies to a classroom so that our children may come to conclusions on their own. Our system should not impose a belief system on our children. Back when there was all of the hubris about prayer in the morning or pledge in the morning, I thought a good compromise was that it would be "considered a silent moment". I can't remember if that is the case or not still, but I still thought it to be a good compromise.

Unfortunately now, I feel that our schools are only teaching our children how to pass tests, and not teaching them the ability to think.... To look at problems logically.
