It makes you wonder. Maybe naked shorting exists but it has never been proven because it's settled before it goes public. Settlements occur so often is this country to avoid bad press and legal fees- why not in these situations? And if Jon is correct we will own a company with a ton of cash making a tender offer or buyout a distinct possibility.
