Well, would the public rather see be blown up? A person in uniform, or a sumbag contractor? Obviously the American people don't care about what we do. It is very easy to write us off and deviant money vampires. But if we didn't do the job, who would? More troops, is the only answer. Contractors move with the military almost everywhere they go, on combat missions, who drives the fuel trucks? When they get back, who cooks the food? Who keeps the lights on and the toilets flushing. Sure it's not a glamorous job, and I am made to feel less of a human for doing it. Because people think that we are just sucking the tax payers money. Contractors keep more troops out of harms way, while we put ourselves in that harm to do a job, which is ONLY to support military operations. Have you ever been asleep in your bed, had a round of mortar fire land 100 yards from where you lay? Ever had a rocket volley fly over your head and destroy multiple buildings within sight? We also live the danger with no rewards. A simple paycheck, crappy benefits, and a kick in the ass when it's all over...that's all we get. But when a soldier comes in and shakes my hand hand tells me thanks for everything I do, that's all I care about....that's all I need to keep going. 12+ hours a day, 7 days a week. We never stop, or take time off.
Don't blame me, you bought this crap too.
