Ah...now I'm following what you are saying.

So the DTCC clears them (I know, I know, they are the hub surround by all the spokes--MMs, borkerages, etc--). The DTCC is keeping the shorts/NSS's trading habits "proprietary"; therefore my brokerage has NO idea.

OK--I understand what you are saying.
