I don't know if this is what you're looking for, but Carpenter estimated 90 million wcdma phones for 2008 and 122 million for 2009, 180 for 2010, 243 for 2011 and 348 for 2012 or 983 million from 2008 thru 2012. You would have to use smaller numbers going back for years 2006 and 2007. Now you would have to reduce those figures with respect to how many may be cdma2000 and data, ed or possibly revlis would have an answer for that. . mo. .. nic

If projctions are acurate Nokia should sell a billion phones from 2008 till the end of 2009, then you add in 2006, 2007, 2008 sales then 700 million sounds really cheap. If and I say if WDCDMA does bring a lot higher rate then I strongly suspect that maybe closer to a $1.00 would be more like the rate, I sure hope so and hope that doesn't inlude any money for any other solutions IDCC might provide them including chips.

How about some of you technical guru's that can figure approximately number of projected Nokia sales that will be WCDMA and then add in the back number, and then post it for us.
