Kermit....agreed....however I'd just like to comment on 1 thing.....w/re to your demo acct comment....

Agreed in that it is close...BUT as the ol sayin goes (& especially w/this mrkt) close only counts in horseshoes 'n handgranaids :0
For ex....my experience w/the fxcm demo platform wasn't even close to being realistic. On the demo side I would ALWAYS get filled on the lowest spread possible.....then on the live side....when the spreads were lookin fairly calm/reasonable at any given time...they ALWAYS seemed jump up oudda nowhere & slam me on the high end...only to settle back down the moment AFTER my trade was filled...it was uncanny...so much to the degree that I will NEVER send FXCM anymore $$$...EVER!!! F that!!
& I'm sure it's just not FXCM either.....I'm sure many of the other floating spread brokerages may operate in a similar fashion....so to this end I would say that perhaps demoing w/a fixed spread borkerage (like MG Financial) is more realistic....sure you tend to pay a little more...but at least it aint like opening up a 4x "box o'chocolates" & ya know what u r gettin ;)~
Best demo advice I can give....give yourself a 2-3 pip cushion....meaning expect to pay a little more on the live side even tho u r gettin the easy fills on the demo side.....& as we all know, just a few pips can make a huge difference on those entries & the brokerages of course are very well aware of this.
I'm seriosuly considering paying a lil more & going w/a fixed spread....this way I know what I'm gettin & execution tends to be better.....just gotta be a lil more patient as I wait for the mrkt to come ta me. However so far, after more than 2 yrs of pretty steady demoing, I really haven't heard much negative stuff about Oanda (floating spreads).....very reasonable spreads for the most part, decent execution for the most part AND as mentioned, they even allow u 2 hang yourself w/gold 'n silver ;)~

JRB.....u hear of this new venture yet? If ya got the time u may be interested in applying to their beta run. This is something many of us have been saying this mrkt needs....should be interesting ta follow the progress of this venture....see if they get it off the ground & how successful it will be.
