Hi Firebird RE Closed End Bond Funds

Let me first state that with interest rates at a 40 year low it would be most prudent to wait till rates seem to be peaking before investing in any LONG TERM bond fund. A good time MIGHT be when short term rates exceed long term rates (inverted interest rates)

Tom has been investing in ACG for years and more recently in CHY but there are other choices as well. Another income alternative are REITs, REIT funds, REIT ETF's (ICF, IYR, etc), but wait to invest in them for the same reasons. They have the advantage in not only generating income but that income stream (dividends)can grow also.

Take the road less traveled. It will make all the difference.
