Yes the public must send the message.

....If you can afford to go green on a scale above and beyond watching your carbon footprint and conserving energy (i.e. unplugging standby devices that aren't being charged and not burning lights that are not necessary etc. ). The message the public sends is commensurate to the hurting it puts on dependency to the current energy providers. They greedily watch their bottom line and not the impact to the environment. The public (us) needs to have the conscience to be forward thinking.... but till it hurts the bottom line of big business they pump out the profits. Good thing we are on this side of the equation.... because I smell a load of hurt for the big guys in the future.
