I dont see anyone from the "ME" generation making anything any better though? Every day I work with young Engineers, right out of school (from your generation), that can't even work a trig problem, but they can use a computer, make spreadsheets, do power point presentations and make reports in a flash.
This is all good, but it doesn't help industry in any way at all. Someone has to do the calculations, design the parts, do the structrual testing and all of that. These young guys can't do any of that. Us "Old Farts" are doing all of that and the younger guys are surfing the internet all day.
However, I did vote for change in the election in November,as this country has to take a different path somehow, because if it doesn't, this country will fall deeper and deeper.It is almost there now, and most of it has been caused by our politicians selling us out. I believe the biggest problem here is the "system itself", and the "system" was created by the "career politicians" and they have made the system work to their advantage and NOT for the American People and for the betterment of the country, as they should be doing.
One piece of advise I will give you, as an "Old Fart", is to be self sufficient, independent, and plan your future yourself and dont depend on someone else to do it for you.
I will tell you what reality is young man -
Reality is when you receive a draft notice in the mail from Uncle Sam, and in 12 weeks your ass is in a helicopter flying into a hot LZ to extract the wounded and people are shooting at you and thinking that you could be shot at any second.
