it is my understanding that when a case is dropped for want of prosecution that the parties have been properly served.

"Failure to Appear. A case may be dismissed for want of prosecution on failure of any party seeking affirmative relief to appear for any hearing or trial of which the party had notice."

Affirmative relief refers to the defendant.

Then again you may be much closer to this than we are. As always your input is greatly appreciated.
