tc and Bruce, Thanks. The info from you both has finally given me
a handle on my sorry state of mind to get Win3.1 onto my new pc.

I summarized below this feed-back from you both for other folks
that tried to read my GotSpeak and got GotSick :o)

But there is always a but, yes? :o)

Once I FDISK my single hard-drive into two bootable parts,
I will use the restore cd to put back the factor version
onto the first "chopped up'ed hard-drive" and then go into
the BIOS and tell it to boot the second "piece" where I will
load from official Microsoft Windows 3.1 floppies.
I'am guessing that once the restore cd starts, that it will
not care that an FDISK was done, and might even sense that
and ask me if it should use the disk as already formated,
or format it a-new. Ya'up, I think I'am getting there.

With [a] restore cd (not a retail copy of XP)
[put] in the cdrom and let it do the format and reinstall
back to factory condition...
The WPA looks at hardware changes to determine if you are
attempting to install XP on a different machine. I think
you are allowed three hardware changes before [red] light...

... about XP registration but were afraid to ask.

(from a URL hit on Googled above)s
So what is this registration thing?
All versions of Windows XP (and Microsoft Office XP) require
registration with Microsoft. The registration program takes
a snapshot of your computer's hardware settings and uses this
during boot-up to make sure it is running on the same machine...
