But you are correct that a TAN implies a managed security service as opposed to strictly a server sale.

Both managed PKI (using TPMs) and metering are key opportunities for Wave. Managed PKI (for corporations) would involve a set-up fee as well as an annual fee (Wave would be the TTP).

Metering could involve access to metering certificates and keeping time to manage rentals and allow content owners to verify usage of their movies, songs, etc. The model for this is less clear. Larger entities like Hollywood movie studios would want to buy a server to meter usage of their movies. Hopefully, there would be a transaction fee. Otherwise, Wave has not used their core e-commerce patent wisely.

This is not meant to be a comprehensive discussion of TANs as I need to get back to my day job!
