A spin off would not cost the investor anything. A spin-0ff for example would be you receiving shares of a newly trading company. You would get the determined amount of shares based on your current BNPD position.

For example purposes:

Company abcd is the parent company
You own 1,000,000 shares of company abcd

Company abcd comes out and says that they will be spinning off shares of company efgh to the amount of 1,000 shares for every 1,000,000 shares of abcd that you own

So you would get 1,000 shares of efgh because you owned 1,000,000 shares of company abcd
