Congress anxious to provide $25B to autos -

if they would just provide their plan. But will they choke on the plan?

"Ok congress, here is our plan (from GM) for a profit making GM. Nothing less is acceptable than a profit making company. We will eliminate Pontaic, Hummer, Saturn, and Buick as a US brand. Buick being a best seller in China, we will continue that production in China. Most overseas operations will remain since they are profitable. Approxiamtely 1/3 of US plants will close. The most profitable products within lines will be retained, mostly large cars. Smaller fuel efficient and electric cars will be introduced when the technology is proven. We cannot afford to introduce products that don't work or are not demanded by consumers. We will demand that non-union affiliates be integrated into our existing plants. Also, here is a list of union work rules that must be eliminated. If these conditions are acceptable to congress and unions, then we will accept our portion of the $25B. If not acceptable, we will initiate bankruptcy filing. Any questions?"
