Lots of people need cash now. But there is also the tax loss selling. Being that we're at a 5 year low I'd say there are plenty here who fit into the loss category. I know it's a gamble to get out and have to wait 30 days (assuming you have not bought in the previous 30) to take the loss. Not a huge risk that anything dramatic will occur before January but it is a risk to be out.

Others might be gambling on a steeper drop with a quick recovery...another gamble. And people wonder why states enact slot machine gambling to generate revenue. lol
