When the Hunt brothers went on the silver binge years ago I was playing right along with them. I made a nice tidy profit trading silver. When it was all over I took those profits and paid top dollar for some very choice silver dollars as that market was going strong at the time. Then with a stroke of the pen congress legislated collectibles out of retirement plans. Needless to say the collectibles market tanked and I lost everything I made from the silver market run. Lesson learned. Distrust the market but distrust the politicians more. I've never been a collector, more a speculator/investor. I like the "junk" silver and the choicest pieces only. It's two separate markets each moved by the same but different fundamentals(oxymoron there).
