Profits Up 95% in Global Mining Sector in 2003 - Canada Leading Exploration Boom: PricewaterhouseCoopers Report
TORONTO, June 14 /CNW/ - The world's 30 largest listed mining companies
reported a 95% increase in aggregate net profits for 2003 to US$11.5 billion,
up from US$5.8 billion, according to a new comprehensive market report by
PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (PwC). The report revealed Canada is emerging as
the world leader in exploration expenditure, second only to Latin American,
and is positioned for future growth.
