United Carina Resources and Consolidated Pine Channel have completed a drilling program on the Carina/Pine Channel/Shane Resources joint venture Smeaton diamond project.
In total, four HQ holes comprising 713 metres were drilled. This includes one shallow overburden hole. All four holes were targeted largely on gravity anomalies. The three holes that cored bedrock successfully intersected up to several metres of subaqueous fragmental and marine reworked kimberlite, intercalated with fine grained sediments. Samples are currently being prepared for shipment. They will be processed and analyzed for indicator minerals and microdiamonds. Indicator minerals obtained from the till of drill hole SDP00-01 are currently being probed, with results to be released as they become available
