barge, let me again remind everyone that Rob Enderle is paid a lot of money by Microsoft. I don't know if Intel is also a client of his, but I suspect it is.

The Linux community has a very low regard for Enderle's objectivity in the discussion of Windows vs. Linux. In my opinion, Enderle goes beyond the role of analyst to become an advocate for his client. His comments on iPod vs. Janus seem to me to be advocacy, not analysis.

Just as Enderle has been consistently wrong on Linux, I believe his dismissal of iPod is premature. Your article is from some months ago. The iPods have been selling like crazy, so I guess the buyers haven't realized how obsolete they already are, in Enderle's opinion.
