First of all, dispense with the politics or the post will get zapped.
Secondly, you don't pick up pieces when everyone is in pieces.
Thirdly, I have commented on this many times. I don't know if you have read them or not. However, in basic terms, my opinion is that it's too late to save the system NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO! It's over. It's only a question of how long you can stall it, barring a Red-Sea-parting miracle. Because of this, the notion that you are digging a deeper hole no longer matters. I used that argument for the last 25 years bitching to high heaven about the deficits and mindless spending. A lot of good that did.
Therefore, you can either begin the calamity today. ORRRR you can begin it a year from today or two years from today or 4 years from today. Your choice. Personally, I prefer to stall the inevitable as long as possible.
