Todays court document from the Tax-assessor collector for Travis County brings up an interesting point in this drama. Property taxes are assessed per sale value and given the nature of the takeover of WAMU what will be the sale value of the branches/properties in this county. Mind you this is only one county out of many that had WAMU branches/properties that were sold (or not) for less then assessed value. If I was WAMU I would look to see the tax value assessed to these branches/properties and that should be what is considerd fair market value for the branches/properties and not what was paid for them. Do you think the assessor will accept a value of zero for the tax assessment on these branches/properties that were sold to JPM. I don't think so. LOL The drama continues
