Dell And Paramount Team Up For Iron Man Offering

Submitted by Nick Smith on Wed, 2008-10-01 11:34.

Would you be more likely to purchase a new PC if it had the hit movie Iron Man on it for an additional twenty bucks?

Both Paramount and Dell are hoping the answer will be a resounding "Yes!" since the two have teamed up to make the title available for the aforementioned $20.

Interested in a different movie like, say, The Incredible Hulk or Forgetting Sarah Marshall?

Forget about it. The only movie that Dell will be offering pre-loaded on select computers will be the Iron fella. But that doesn't mean the company plans to keep it that way.

"The key focus here is to lead off our slow immersion into content as a major piece of the puzzle in terms of what consumers want from a PC," said Rachna Bhasin, director of content for Dell's global consumer group.

The good news is that consumers who choose to purchase a PC with the flick preloaded will be able to burn it to a DVD once. The bad news is that standard definition will be the only option. "

Earlier in the year we have these two PRs coming out on the same day.
