I just hypothesized the $2 Billion difference blarsh8. From what WAMUQ filed themselves, the difference would actually be $24 Billion!!! That said, since I see write downs to the values of the MBS....at least to some extent, then I assume the real difference between the assets and liabilities will not be a full $24 Billion. In that vein, I decided to take it one step further and wrote that EVEN IF the difference was "only" $2 Billion, then that represents a value of over $1 per share. Guarantee? No, of course not....BUT, I find it far more likely than not that there is at least $2 Billion, if not substantially more money left over after liabilities are paid.
