Yes, it is good news they are mining coal. However, the numbers don't look good.
700 raw tons = 700 x $59/ton for White Star = $41,300
reject rate of 50% = 350 tons of clean coal @$96/ton = $33,600
They are losing money without factoring other costs like trucking etc.
This would be true even at 2,000 tons/day. They need to improve the reject rate, which should happen once they get deeper into the seam. Alternatively, they need to get more money per ton or a combination of both.
