If the Lucent lawsuit were important to clarify the extent of essential IPR in the CDMA2000 standard, IMO it would have placed the native IDCC patents in controversy, not those of Tantivy. I don`t accept that for relative "pennies", IDCC bought patents more important than its own as pertains to CDMA2000. There doesn`t appear to have been a bidding war for teetering Tantivy, rather it was a fire sale. It is unlikely that all of the majors failed to appreciate Tantivy`s diamonds, misevaluating them as coal.Tantivy was obligated to peddle its portfolio to the highest bidder, and IDCC was either the lone player, or the others offered even less.
