Blatch, In defense of Stoll, several times at conference presentations he did say that key CRO people taking vacations was always a potential wildcard/variable that they couldn't control. The delay sucks, but I'm not sure Cortex had much/any control over it.

Stoll often answers emails, and he knows his responses get posted here on I-Hub, so that may have been his way of informally disseminating the information on the delay. Issuing an official press release with the headline 'key biostatistician in Bahamas for 2 weeks' would have looked silly, even though that info would have been useful to us investors. Instead, Stoll knows his email will be posted here on I-Hub.
