He's into Wood Flooring at the moment - not to say it couldn't be a by-product. I'm sure I've read of ethanol from Cellulose via tree before. His existing company will probably be having a hard time with the building dowturn in the US - or will soon. UK has had at least one relatively large flooring bankruptcy in the past 2 months - listed Floors2go.
