If the shorts bought a ton of $25 calls from shareholders (eg hedgefunds and large institutional holders) that expected them to expire worthless and then exercised their right to buy them from these shareholders at $25.00, they could acquire a ton of shares at $25.00 without having to buy them from the Market and seriously impacting the price of shares today.
