The numbers are insane - the US economy is huge! 1 trillion dollars is less than 2% (actually around 1.8%) of the GDP for 2007 ($55.36 trillion). Of course that excludes income from the rest of the world ($3.27 trillion) and payments due the rest of the world ($2.88 trillion) leaving a Gross National Product of 55.74 trillion dollars.

That's $55,748,200,000,000.00

I can't even comprehend that figure, but I'm sure that it'll buy a lot of groceries!
