This is completly wrong. Birdsteps Mobile IP client is no competitor of Msft or Cisco. There are different levels of MIP. Cisco`s MIP can only work on Cisco IOS and Birdstep mobile Client is a extension of the Cisco Client, thats why their working together. Yeah Birdstep is IP based, but thats no problem for voice, since voice is data and VOIP is coming. When you`re saying that MSFT is a competitor of Birdstep, then you`re WAY off topic. INTEL and MSFT did have a research facility in Sweden in 2000-2001, but they gave up the project and sacked everyone, they are not working on this solution anymore and thats why INTEL is running around the world with Birdstep. MSFT is also a partner of Birdstep, so there is NO competion between these to. Mobile IP is a broad terminologi and Mobile IP has been use for a long time, but Birdstep Mobile IP client which can enable seamless roaming from cellular to wifi (+others) is a new product which some others have. These include Ipunplugged, Netmotion, Ecutel, Netseal and Secgo. MSFT haven`t got a similar product. INTEL was planning to integrate the Birdstep Mobile IP Client into INTEL Centrino, but they prosponed it.
