I can't speak for Dadd or Doug C, but maybe I can shed light on some of the deletion inconsistencies.

As moderators we have one job, to keep the board on topic and civilized. I don't like to delete posts, even those that are off topic. For the most part I will leave off topic posts, and mild personal attacks of the ribbing, or poke you in the chest variety. Up until one line is crossed, will the post cause a major disruption.

Occam's Razor by oilphant. Totally off topic and meets every criteria for deletion, EXCEPT that by deleting it I would create a board disturbance by the many that, for whatever reason, like the guys posts.

I'm more about peace and harmony than TOU rules. We're adults, hash things out like adults. Try to disrupt and a reason can be found to delete nearly any post. TOU rules are quite vague for that reason.

Peace, and try to understand. It's not always about on-topic/off-topic... it's about peaceful discussion vs. chaos.
