"diffusion of innovations"? that is a new one on me. No, this was a model put forward by one of those guys like Porter that likes to rephrase old and obvious ideas in new ways using new words and then charge big bucks to sell and print them. Usually they refer to them as "frameworks" or "paradigms". Sometimes they invent new words to describe their words. I think it is fairly obvious most of the time.. anyway, it was Porter or somebody like that. One of those "strategy" guys.
