"What Matters?" As I am not a religous man, I firmly believe that what matters is family, friends and the people you see on a daily, weekly or monthly basis and interact with. Treat each with respect and dignity and you will find yourself in a more comfortable community. I know the check out people at the grocery store by name, we have conversations. The milkman, mailman and neighbors are all on a first name basis with me. Do I get to know them well, no, but each have hardships and joys in their lives and I respect each person for who they are.
Do I get ticked off at the lady driving on the freeway at 35mph. You bet I do, I am human. Do I then tailgate and ruin my day by getting all worked up, no.
God creates problems. So many religions, so many people saying I am right you are wrong. If we all just allowed each other to believe or not believe and kept it too ourselves and those around us that believe as we do, the world would be okay. But humans are unable to do that. We must prove we are right, your beliefs are wrong or flawed. We must convert because God wants me to save your soul. My soul is already saved because I do not believe I have one, but I do have a heart and I do care for those around me.
What matters? Each of us matter. Each of our seperate lives, our desires, our wants, our grief, our pain, our pleasures and joys. We are idividuals. Someday I hope the world can see that and allow each other to live in peace and respect others for their beliefs.
(Of course I do not want people to say, well murderers believe in what they are doing, blah, blah. You all know what I am saying.)
"No matter how many times you save the world, it always manages to get back in jeopardy again! I feel like the maid; "I just cleaned up this place! Can't you keep it clean for ten minutes!"
