ColeThorton,

First, thank you for your DD. I can understand that you would be so skeptical after so many failures by GTEM,Globetel/
Sanswire. However, I would like to point out a few facts:

(Please look up http://www.bw-invest.de/eng/data/4-seiter_LUR_e_prod.pdf as one independent source)

The aerospace industry in the Stuttgart Region has a long-standing tradition and a prominent reputation in the field. Famous regional aerospace pioneers include Graf Zeppelin, Eugen Sänger, Ulf Merbold and Ernst W. Messerschmid. There are few areas in Germany or even throughout the world that can offer so many (and such a diversified combination of) global players, medium-sized aerospace companies, universities and research institutions. It is also interesting to note how many aerospace engineers there are who have studied at the University of Stuttgart. Between seventy and eighty percent of all German aerospace engineers have earned their degrees there. And by the way, research in unmanned aerial vehicles and satellite-supported earth surveillance is one of the several specialties among the Stuttgart Region's areas of expertise.

What is my point? First, you have to admit that GTEM has picked one of the best places in the world for its R&D. Second, Dr. Kroeplin may have been accused of being responsible for the loss of 300 million euros, but nobody has proven these charges, and he should be assumed innocent unless proven guilty, correct?

My final point is that research in the field of near space is fairly new and producing a working stratellite at 60,000 feet has never been done before. Therefore, it is perfectly normal to expect and have many failures before perfecting this new technology.

The bottom line is: a history of failures is nothing new in state of the art R&D. The environment GTEM selected for their work is ideal. IF Globetel succeeds, the potential for the company is practically unlimited. Only time will tell.
