OK Ron, we are making good progress toward accommodation. We agree that SOME level of dilution done for the right reasons is a good thing. So now we only need to determine how much, and where, we think InterDigital has gone "over the line".

I'm betting that your issue is mostly about the shares optioned and/or granted to only a very few folks, and maybe about what that does to the totals. You seem like too rational of a guy to take issue with the shares allocated to IDCC's employee incentive plan, so I'm thinking we are talking about shares granted or optioned to a few members of top management.

First I've gotta say that those top management guys have been, and are, "stirring the soup" at a critical time in InterDigital's history. Regardless of all the other efforts that went into the pot, the way it ends up "ta$ting" for all of us depends a whole lot on what those top guys decide. Chefs get paid a lot more than the cooks who do the work, it's a fact of life.

Second, I don't think we are on the same page when it comes to talking about the realities of business in the bigs. You appear to see it as a fair and orderly world where bright engineers get fairly paid for what they create, while I see it as a ruthless bazaar of cut throats and thieves. You appear to assign little value to top management, while I see them as the only chance we've got in seeing serious value appreciation.

I'm counting on IDCC's top management to be smarter than the guys who don't want to pay a "fair and reasonable" royalty rate for using InterDigital's IPR work products, and,... to be evil, wicked, mean, bad, and nasty when they need to be. Tough enough to win when the other guys decide to play rough. Tough enough to take all Jorma can dish out, and then to smile when he sits down to write a check for what they asked for in the first place. I see them deserving a healthy portion of the soup for getting that done.
