To clarify. IDCC cannot sue Motorla with regard to those patent claims that were litigated in the prior suit . If IDCC believes Motorola is infringing on other patents, it may bring those claims. I would be very, very surprised if this were to occur. Note that the federal court found that while IDCC's patents were valid (reversing the trial court's finding in this regard), it upheld the finding that Motorola did not infringe. This was a win for IDCC because it allowed IDCC to prosecute and license those patents against OTHER companies in the future who it believes infringe them. This was a win for Motorola because the Court said that while IDCC's patents were valid, MOtorola's products at issue in that case did not infringe.

Motorola is a potential licensee for 3G only in my opinion.
