Most rigs in Texas are NOT producing oil . They are producing natural gas . Texas has just as soft of an economy as any other state right now . The gas prices are putting a serious hurt on things in general for this country and something needs to bring things back into check . Other wise , people as just about every level other than the super rich and going to be in for some stuff times .
