I believe the answer to this lies in what someone from Canada told me on another message board. I'm sorry, this is just hear say, but it makes sense: Only Canadian companies can hold mineral rights in Canada. Since CMKM Diamonds is a US company it cannot hold mineral claims. But Casavant's other companies, which are Canadian, CAN hold the claims for CMKM Diamonds.
