Good question regarding virus's (viri?)...

This is from Zeevs board:

http://www.investorshub.com/boards/read_msg.asp?message_id=2934682

"With questionable emails, I usually just delete them without opening, but sometimes, like today with the Amazon.com email (because I just recently had an order there, I rt. click, click properties, details tab and message source, where I can see the original html and read what the email is about, who from, etc., without opening it. I presume this method would NOT infect my computer if the email was infected, but don't know for sure. Anyone know?"

I have done this in the past also assuming (a dangerous thing) that this is a safe way of viewing a message without opening it and allowing a pest to escape into my system. Do you have any idea as to if this is a safe way of examining the contents of an email without actually opening it?

TIA
