kpf, it was as I thought.

That newsgroup is just folks trying out the public preview, which is the same build that was made available to MSDN subscribers last August/September. It doesn't reflect the current internal state of the product, so I wouldn't rely on that to inform your launch date estimate to any substantial degree.
