maybe someone is transferring stock from one ownership entity to another holding company or something as a purely an indication of increased interest & volume. In that case it really doesn't matter what the price is, as they just need to move a certain quantity or dollar amount from one place to another and make it look like they sold for a loss and acquired for a gain.
