800 lb Gorillas buy companies all of the time on abstract potential. If Exxon Management went to their BOD with proof showing the potential that you, me , and SEO think is there......... I feel pretty confident that they wouldn't be told no.
The problem, imo, is that to date the Majors have tried to low ball SEO with the thought that he would blink first. He hasn't. Matter of fact, he has called the bluff and gone all in. We are less then a year away from everyone showing their cards.
